Product Description

HAF Apron Feeder
HAF Apron Feeder

The HAZEMAG HAF apron feeder offers an excellent solution for a highly controlled, uniform extraction of the given raw material from the primary feed hopper. Cement and aggregate producers around the world have benefited from its very heavy-duty design, innovative technology, and proven success. Conveying capacities up to 4000 ton/hour and a feed size of 3m3 are just part of the capabilities and success of the HAZEMAG HAF apron feeder.

Equipment

The design of the apron feeder consists of a heavy- duty main frame, right and left sectional beams that are joined together with cross beams to ensure its stability and rigidness. This main frame is fitted with slide rails and support rollers, both utilized for the very smooth movement of the tractor chain. Mounted onto the tractor chain are 30mm thick, heavy-duty flight pans that move and carry the feed material. Depending on the length of the apron feeder, the chains are either tensioned mechanically or hydraulically.

Operation Method

The material on the apron feeder is transported by the complete conveying system.

Drive Unit
Drive Unit

The apron feeder is driven electro-mechanically. The conveying speed is infinitely adjustable. A back stop prevents the feeder from moving backwards.

Tractor Type Chains
Tractor type chains

The chains are heavy-duty, tractor-type chains, equipped with lifetime-lubricated links. Depending on the application, the chains are commonly offered as D7, D8, or D9.

Apron Feeder Pans
Apron feeder Pans

An apron feeder pan is bolted to each link of the tractor chain. Every second plate is equipped with a carrier; this secures the material transport. The apron‘s specific contour assures that only very little material finds its way into the inside of the apron feeder.

Support Rollers
Support Rollers | Return Rollers

The support rollers are bolted to the upper side of the frame and are lifetime lubricated. The tractor chain moves on these rollers. In the bunker feed-in area, support rollers are mounted on shock absorbers to reduce the shock loads on the apron feeder construction during tipping.

The lifetime-lubricated return rollers carry the outside edge of the apron feeder pans on the lower side of the frame.

Slide Rails
Slide Rails

Slide rails are mounted under the apron feeder pans, along its full length. For added protection, additional slide rails are positioned in the main impact area, directly below the truck dump zone. These help to reduce shock loading.

Protective Skirting
Apron Feeder Protective Skirting

The sidewalls serve as the protective skirting, which is located above the apron feeder along its entire length. The design of the skirting is specific to the application, feed size, and expected material layer height.

Protection guards are located along the entire length of the apron feeder, preventing access to its moving parts during operation. During times of inspection or maintenance, these guards can easily be removed for complete access to the chain drive system. Furthermore, the operation of the apron feeder is continuously monitored by a speed monitor.

HCC Spillage Conveyor
Spillage Conveyor | HCC

The spillage conveyor is a chain conveyor mounted directly on the apron feeder. Some rest material adheres to the apron feeder pans. This material falls off on the return side. The apron feeder and the spillage conveyor form a unit, but are to be operated independently.

Application
Application
  • For material extraction from feed hoppers and material conveyance
  • Extra heavy duty design and the very latest technology, backed by an extensive reference list – proven success around the world!
  • Exclusive “Tight Seal System” ensures that the pans remained sealed (no gap) during operation – each pan overlaps its neighboring pan, a result of engineering and precision machining
  • Variable-speed drive either by hydraulics or by planetary gear and frequency-controlled electric motor
  • Integrated spillage conveyor for removal of fine or sticky materials that may form on pans
