HRS | Roller Screen
HAZEMAG Roller Screen | HRS 

The Roller Screen is used for material separation and transportation. This is achieved by rotating discs – fitted rollers, which transport the material fed in, circulate and loosen it. The separation of the fines is effected in the gap between the individual rollers while the coarse material is transported by the screen into the overflow. The form of the discs as a polygon supports the material conveyance.The HAZEMAG HRS roller screen offers an excellent solution for highly efficient screening and separation of given raw material, typically delivered by a primary apron feeder. The proven benefit of the roller screen is its ability to handle and process difficult material conditions such as high moisture, sticky materials such as clays, and a high amount of finer fractions contained within the ROM material. Cement and aggregate producers around the world have benefited from its very heavy-duty design, innovative technology, and proven success. Conveying & separation capacities up to 3500 ton/hour and a feed size up to 3m3 can be fully realized with the HAZEMAG roller screen. 

Equipment 

The roller screen is a non-vibrating machine that transports or moves the given material via a series of slowly rotating shafts. Its heavy-duty design consists of a welded, heavy-duty main steel frame. This frame serves as the support system for each shaft assembly and its bearing housings. The drive system is our exclusive “chain link system”, a design where each shaft is connected to its neighboring shaft. The “chain link system” is sealed in a dust tight housing or box that contains oil for lubrication. The roller screen is supplied with an automatic lubrication system for the greasing of each bearing. The ability of the roller screen to process adverse or difficult material conditions is truly outstanding, backed by proven success.

The HAZEMAG VARIOwobbler HVW brings about a new generation of roller screens. Its distinctive feature is that the gap spacing or setting between the individual shafts can be varied, allowing for the material separation process to take place at the touch of a button. 

Under difficult raw material conditions such as high levels of contamination or a high level of variations within the quarry, the operational variations within the quarry, the operational flexibility of the VARIOwobbler HVW roller screen brings about an unmatched level of benefits.

The VARIOwobbler® HVW roller screen operates with a combination of fixed shafts in the main screening zone and adjustable gap spacing within the VARIO shafts. The VARIO deck is comprised of four (4) shafts, thus permitting a gap variation between three (3) shafts.

The HRS roller screen is designed and engineered for reliability, excellent performance, low maintenance, low power consumption, and reduced operating costs. It offers a design and level of technology that is truly unmatched by others, serving cement and aggregate producers around the world. 

Main Frame
Main Frame 

The HRS roller screen offers a very heavy-duty design. The main support frame is a fabricated, welded construction that has external ribbing for added strength. The function of the main frame is to support the bearings, shaft assemblies and the raw material as it is being transported along the roller screen. The main frame box is lined with thick, replaceable wear liners produced from wear resistant HARDOX 450.

The HRS roller screen can be supplied as a single deck, or with multiple decks allowing it to be tailored specific to the application needs and raw material conditions. The decks are supplied as modules, comprised of 4 or 6 shafts. In a typical application where the raw material is clean, such as shot rock limestone, a single deck is normally supplied. In applications where the raw material contains high moisture, sticky materials such as clays, or other adverse conditions, a multi-deck design offers the further benefits of moving the material more aggressively. A multi-deck design also offers the ability to separate the material at different fractions, where each deck can be sized to produce a specific material size.

Our exclusive “chain link” drive system ensures the trouble-free operation of the roller screen drive system. Its unique and proven design connects each shaft to its neighboring shaft via a heavy-duty double sprocket. This ensures excellent contact around the radius of each sprocket. The chain link system eliminates the need for chain tensioning and greatly reduces the stress to the drive system.

The HRS roller screen shafts can be produced as a welded bow design or as a “form fit” design. In the case of the welded design, the bows are welded to the core shaft, producing a very strong system. In the case of the “form fit” design the shafts are fitted with replaceable, wear resistant slide-on sleeves, offering the ability to rebuild the shafts without a core shaft replacement. Unlike competitive wobbler feeders that utilize tubing as shaft material, the HAZEMAG roller screen is designed solely with solids. 

For primary applications the bows are positioned in line with each other. Typical gap spacing ranges from 3 inch up too 4½ inch. 

Form Fit Design – Industry Exclusive 

For increased service life and wear protection, the shafts can be fitted with wear sleeves produced from HARDOX 450 and bows produced from HARDOX 500 material. 

Each shaft is fitted with heavy-duty, adjustable scrapers, which serve the purpose of keeping the shafts clean.
