Service Division Manager

The Service Division Manager will support the VP Service and Procurement in all aspects of parts sales, order fulfillment including purchasing, vendor coordination, and inventory management. This role is responsible for managing a team of customer service representatives who handle day-to-day communication with customers, vendors, and sales representatives. The manager will also serve as the primary liaison between the company and its network of independent sales representatives, ensuring consistent communication, performance tracking, and customer satisfaction.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Service Division Manager to manage our parts and service operations and position the division for continued success and expansion.

The Service Division Manager will support the VP Service and Procurement in all aspects of parts sales, order fulfillment including purchasing, vendor coordination, and inventory management. This role is responsible for managing a team of customer service representatives who handle day-to-day communication with customers, vendors, and sales representatives. The manager will also serve as the primary liaison between the company and its network of independent sales representatives, ensuring consistent communication, performance tracking, and customer satisfaction.

In addition, this position will play a key role in the company’s digital transformation and process improvement initiatives, supporting the modernization of systems, workflows, and customer service processes across the Service Division.

This position is designed as a growth role, with the expectation that the successful candidate will advance to Vice President of Service and Procurement within 3–5 years, based on performance and leadership impact.

The position will support the Vice President of Service Procurement in their responsibilities in the following areas:

1 – Operational Management

  • Oversee all daily operations within the Service Division, including parts sales, order processing, purchasing and fulfillment.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely procurement, cost control, and quality standards.
  • Supervise inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize obsolescence.
  • Implement and maintain performance metrics for order accuracy, delivery time, and customer satisfaction.

2 – Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor the Customer Service team, fostering a high-performance and customer-first culture.
  • Support professional development of team members through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and accounting to ensure seamless service delivery.

3 – Sales & Representative Management

  • Coordinate with independent sales representatives to support their customer relationships, quoting, and order management needs.
  • Develop programs and communications to enhance rep performance and alignment with company objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand parts sales and service revenue streams.

4 – Digital Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Support and help lead ongoing digital transformation initiatives, including ERP enhancements, CRM implementation, and data-driven decision tools.
  • Champion process improvement efforts to increase efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness within the Service Division.
  • Encourage adoption of new technologies and provide feedback on system performance and user experience.

5 – Customer & Vendor Relations

  • Maintain key customer and vendor relationships, ensuring prompt issue resolution and long-term satisfaction.
  • Travel to visit customers, vendors, and sales representatives for relationship development and to drive sales.
  • Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting for the Service Division.
  • Monitor divisional profitability and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to long-term service strategy, preparing for future leadership advancement within the company.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience), or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in customer service, parts/service operations, or related roles within a manufacturing or industrial company.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing vendor or customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage or support digital transformation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 12 weeks per year, potential for international travel.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing independent sales representatives or distribution networks.
  • Background in manufacturing environments with both direct and representative-based sales models.
  • Understanding of inventory management and supply chain optimization principles.
  • Base Salary: Commensurate with experience

Technical Sales & Applications

  • Work with customers to understand their material, production, process, and operating requirements.
  • Select and size crushing, feeding, and separation equipment for specific applications.
  • Work with engineering and service personnel to develop solutions for complex applications.
  • Perform testing of material samples with test equipment at headquarters and at remote locations.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive equipment quotations and proposals.
  • Clearly communicate equipment capabilities, benefits, and technical requirements to customers.

Customer & Internal Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact between customers and the company.
  • Coordinate with engineering, service, purchasing, and other internal departments to support customer requirements.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to engineering and management to support product improvements and development.
  • Assist with customer issues and ensure effective follow-up throughout the sales process and after the sale.

Sales Process & CRM

  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, quotation, and activity information in the company’s CRM system.
  • Maintain regular communication and follow-up with prospects and customers.
  • Participate in sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and forecasting activities.
  • Follow established sales processes and contribute to improving sales efficiency and effectiveness.

Marketing & Industry Activities

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, customer events, and industry meetings.
  • Support company marketing initiatives and provide input for sales materials and product promotions.
  • Develop relationships within relevant industry organizations and customer networks.
  • Experience in capital equipment sales, preferably crushing, screening, feeding, separation, or related materials-processing equipment.
  • Experience with aggregate, mining, construction, or recycling customers preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand equipment and process applications.
  • Engineering or technical degree preferred, particularly Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, but equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and develop practical equipment solutions.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 2–3 weeks per month.

The ideal candidate is a technically oriented, customer-focused salesperson who enjoys being in the field developing relationships and solving customer problems.

The successful candidate will combine technical understanding with strong business-development skills and will have the drive to develop new customers, grow existing accounts, and become a trusted resource for customers in the aggregate, mining, and recycling industries.
